国連機関などで構成する「総合的食料安全保障レベル分類」の検討委員会は11月３日、スーダンの２地域について、計約37万５千人が飢饉（ききん）の状態にあると発表した。スーダンでは国軍と準軍事組織「即応支援部隊」の戦闘が２年半以上続いている。
