NEW YORK —Ted Turner, the brash sportsman and entrepreneur whose ambition and instincts built a media empire that included the groundbreaking news network CNN, died May 6 at 87, according to Turner Enterprises. He was diagnosed in 2018 with Lewy body dementia, a progressive neurological disorder.
